Lovely meal at Matteo's. Definitely worth the hype. The seafood linguine is worth coming back for.:)
Parking was easy, because we were early, I’m sure it would be more difficult later.
‘T’ was our server, absolutely the best! He was extremely educated about the menu including wines, and very patient since we wanted to visit and thoroughly examine the menu, he answered every question and was not pushy in the least.
Fresh, homemade pasta with phenomenal recipes - and probably the best quality of meat and preparation for a fillet I have ever had! Great drinks, tons of wines, and not the mention a really nice atmosphere. Servers are super knowledgeable, attentive, and friendly!
Not extremely impressed with vegan options. The waitress we had was not familiar enough with the menu to suggest any options and did not seem interested in actually assisting us. We made rez through open table and gave them a heads up that we are vegan. Have made reservations in Wailea at other restaurants and their servers were ready and knowledgeable. It also didn't help that my boyfriend and I were both tired and really just would have been open to any type of vegan suggestion from the waitress. Spaghetti with olive oil and garlic, something I would have ordered for my children when they were younger and spaghetti with marinara. Not very imaginative, but the waitress did tell us at the end that we could have "built our own" pasta. She mentioned that earlier but with tired brains it didn't register. The focaccia bread was vegan and served with hummus spread. Dessert, we were told there was nothing vegan. It's unfortunate the staff wasn't more knowledgeable and more accommodating. We went there because there were several vegan customers who were happy with everything, they must have been lucky to get a server who was aware of different dietary styles. Hint: just because it's gluten-free doea not make it vegan.
Excellent food and service. Rachael as good as Michael! Best dinner on Maui.
The food was spectacular and perfection! Very nice on the patio.
We made reservations for 5:30, we like to dine early, and we were among the first patrons, but it got very busy soon. Be sure to make reservations.
